One of the more modern takes of a tiara that we have seen was designed for Princess Charlene of Monaco, by her husband Prince Albert II of Monaco. Her husband to be commissioned Van Cleef and Arpels to design tiara in 2011, which was inspired by the see due to his wife's passion for swimming (she was an Olympic swimmer after all).

Each element of the tiara represents a water theme, including the circle elements that resemble crashing waves.
